What's about Oktoberfest?
  • Oktoberfest is a celebration that started as a WEDDING CELEBRATION in the year of 1810 between King Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
  • Throughout the years, Oktoberfest celebration have had a number of different activities, such as the horse races, street parades, live music, dancing, and of course the appreciation of authentic Munich-brewed beer.
  • Till now, Oktoberfest is a truly global celebration with almost 7 million visitors consuming over 7 million liters of beer with more than half a million of chickens throughout the celebration, which lasts between 16-18 days from the middle of September to the first Sunday of October.
  • For Oktoberfest 2013, the festival will run from [ 21st September 2013 - 6th October 2013 ]. Total of 16 days of Culture, Cuisine and Beers!
  • For Oktoberfest Beer, it must be brewed within the city limits of Munich and must conform to the REINHEITSGEBOT and BAVARIAN PURITY LAW which strictly governs the production of beer in Germany by limiting the ingredients that can be used.
  • All Oktoberfest beer are approximately 13% proof which is about 6% of alcohol, meaning that they are little bit stronger than their "NON-Oktoberfest" variants.

Paulaner - The Official Oktoberfest Bier.
  • Paulaner was first brewed by monks from the Paulaner monastery in 1634, which is almost 380 years old. However, it is still the "youngest" of the Oktoberfest Beers!
  • Paulaner Oktoberfest Bier is unlike the rest of Paulaner range, it is not a wheat beer but instead a lager.
  • Paulaner Oktoberfest beer are approximately 13% proof which is about 6% of alcohol, meaning that they are little bit stronger than their "NON-Oktoberfest" variants.

Oktoberfest Celebration?

At the Oktoberfest Celebration, each Oktoberfest beer operates a number of tents which provide different drinking experiences. Paulaner is famous for three widely popular tents, namely:
  • Armbrustschützenzelt - "Armbust" means crossbow. This tent certainly lives up to its name with a crossbow shooting range available for 10 years.
  • Käfer's Wies'n-Schänke - A smaller tent that gets VIP visitors from all around the world and serves signature gourmet food, such as "Kafer-Duck" and roast saddle of venison.
  • Winzerer Fähndl - This tent also popular among VIPs due to its attention to detail, celebrated oompah band called "Nockherberger" and iconic tower with giant mug of Paulaner sitting atop it.

  1. It fills me with such hope and great sadness-thoughts of couples who I’ve known who have not made it, and the ones still struggling through everyday life.
